The Physics of Plasma

The Wonders of Physics has created a new, 30-minute show called “The Physics of Plasma”.  The goal of the program is to educate people about plasmas:  what they are, where they can be found, and what we can do with them. Audience members are entertained and amazed by fun, fast-paced demonstrations of various plasma devices, including: plasma globes, Van de Graaff generator, Jacobs ladder, Tesla coil, and a new musical Tesla coil.  Prototype shows were presented in September 2013 at the Epic Users Group Meeting in Verona, WI, and at the Wisconsin Science Festival, UW-Madison campus. More developed versions of the show were presented to families at US Bank Eve in Madison on December 31, 2013, and at the Science Expeditions science festival at UW-Madison on April 5, 2014.  We are currently working with an event planner to present “The Physics of Plasma” at large events nationwide.  Please contact us if you would like to schedule a performance.
