Book a Program

"In the matter of physics, the first lessons should contain nothing but what is experimental and interesting to see. A pretty experiment is in itself often more valuable than twenty formulae extracted from our minds"

Albert Einstein

The Wonders of Physics has various physics outreach program options that it books for schools and community organizations throughout the year. Here are our following program options:

Traveling Physics of Plasma show

Cost: $400 for first show, $200 for each subsequent show on the same day

Summary: This is a 30 minute long, interactive physics presentation that discusses plasma, one of the states of matter. This presentation discusses what plasma is, where you can find it in the universe, and practical applications of plasma. We travel to your school or community organization location to bring this show to you. (Note: due to our current funding, this program is mostly limited to locations within Dane County.)

Best suited for people ages 11 and up

On-Campus Physics of Plasma show

Cost: $200 for first show, $100 for each subsequent show on the same day – except for Wisconsin Science Festival and Science Expeditions, both of which are free shows

Summary: This is the same as the traveling Physics of Plasma show above, but it takes place on the UW-Madison campus at Chamberlin Hall. This show can only be booked during summer and winter breaks for students.

Best suited for people ages 11 and up

Exotic Plasmas of the Universe Exploration Station

Cost: Free

Summary: This is an interactive exploration station that features short plasma display and Van de Graaff generator demonstrations. This program is best fit for events such as family science nights and science expos. (Note: this program’s scheduling is subject to student staff and volunteer availability. Also, due to our current funding, this program is mostly limited to locations within Dane County.)

This is suitable for people of all ages
