Quantum
Quantum is a newer field of study in the realm of physics. Everything is made up of atoms, which in turn are made up of subatomic particles like protons, neutrons, and electrons; the building blocks of our Universe! Quantum physics describes how these particles act in a way that classical physics cannot explain. We think of light like little particles, called photons. While this is true, it is also the case that light is a wave too! Light isn’t the only matter this applies to either, all particles do this. Scientists have studied this odd behavior and figured out how to use this to make technologies like atomic clocks, GPS tracking systems, and quantum computers.
